MONIQUE

Monique Rowlands graduated from James Cook University in 2015 where she initially began her career split across the private practice and hospital setting. This was in North Queensland, which is where she originates from. Here, Mo gained some broad experience with post op management, neuro and cardiopulmonary physio. She has been able to draw on this as a private practice physio, which is where her passion really lies.

After a couple of years in sunny North Queensland, Mo moved to Melbourne for an opportunity to work with one of the VFLW teams. This opportunity allowed Mo to hone in her physio skills in a fast paced, high performance environment. She attributes her time spent in this role for her confidence and expertise in treating a myriad of conditions. The pressure of needing players on the field helped her grow in finding creative ways to offload painful tissue safely, whilst maintaining a high level of function. After a few years working in the footy, Mo stepped down from the role to spend more time in the clinic where she has been able to use her skills to treat the backyard athletes, mums and dads, tradies and oldies. Mo loves to keep up to date with the latest in sports physiotherapy and believes everyone should have access to the type of physio that helps athletes get back to dominating on the field. This is her aim with each patient that walks into her door.

In her spare time Mo loves keeping active, particularly outside. She loves working out and has tried her hand at a few half marathons, she’s yet to beat her PB, so hopefully 2025 is her year! Over the last few years Mo has taken up surfing and has been loving the challenge - a few wins amongst many fails. When it's too cold to surf, she loves to get out for a hike. It's her love of the outdoors that brings her to Perth, and she is super excited to explore all that the West Coast has to offer!
